General Dynamics profit rises on sustained defense demand

April 23 (Reuters) - General Dynamics GD.N reported a 27% rise in first-quarter profit on Wednesday, driven by strength in its defense units owing to sustained demand for military munitions and vehicles amid geopolitical uncertainties.
The Reston, Virginia-based company reported quarterly profit of $994 million or $3.66 per share, up from $799 million or $2.88 per share a year ago.
