Kremlin says progress has been made on Ukraine peace but contacts difficult with the US

MOSCOW, April 18 (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Friday that some progress had already been made in talks about a possible peace settlement to end the war in Ukraine but that contacts were rather difficult with the United States.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was striving to resolve the conflict in Ukraine while ensuring its own interests, and that Moscow remained open to dialogue with the United States.
