Italy says tax talks with US should be bilateral, not done through EU

ROME, April 17 (Reuters) - Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Thursday that negotiations with the United States on taxation of digital and other companies should be conducted bilaterally, not through the European Union.
Speaking at the launch in Rome of a new business weekly publication, Giorgetti also said he planned to meet U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday of next week at a G20 gathering.
