CORRECTED-Trump says talks on war in Ukraine might be going OK

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE, April 12 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war might be going OK, adding in remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One that there is a time when you have to put up or shut up.

At a meeting with Trump in recent weeks, the U.S. special envoy leading talks with Moscow, Steve Witkoff, told the president that the fastest way to broker a ceasefire in Ukraine was to support a strategy that would give Russia ownership of four eastern Ukrainian regions it attempted to annex illegally in 2022, people familiar with the situation told Reuters.
