Aon promotes Urbieta to EMEA chief broking officer

April 11 - (The Insurer) - Aon has appointed Erlantz Urbieta as chief broking officer for EMEA.
In a statement on Friday, Aon said that it had promoted Urbieta to oversee its broking strategy in the region. He will report to Luca Tassarotti, head of commercial risk solutions EMEA, and Cynthia Beveridge, Aon’s global chief broking officer.
Urbieta, who is currently Aon’s head of commercial risk in Spain, will continue to oversee the Spanish business in the “short term” Aon said.
Urbieta is replacing Terence Williams, who is moving to become head of commercial risk in Asia-Pacific.
Based in Madrid, Urbieta has been at Aon for over 25 years, having originally joined the firm in 2000.
