- (The Insurer) - Generali's Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) arm has reorganised its structure with new appointments and set out fresh priorities for 2025 to 2027, including expanding its loss prevention, specialty insurance and alternative risk transfer (ART) offerings.

GC&C on Thursday announced three strategic priorities for 2025 to 2027, the first of which aims to improve the firm's resilience to climate and emerging risks through underwriting analytics and loss prevention. The insurer also plans to boost its propositions for multinational programmes and captives, while expanding its product offering and geographical footprint, particularly in Germany, Iberia, Latin America and Asia.

Specialty, cyber, ART and parametric are the areas where GC&C said it particularly intends to scale up. Captives and parametric covers are often considered part of the category of ART; Generali's distinction between the products suggests that by ART it is referring at least in part to the structured (re)insurance market it entered last year with MGU SRS Altitude.

Philippe Vezio, previously deputy CEO and CUO of Tokio Marine Asia, has joined GC&C as head of the insurance unit within the company's new organisational structure. Former GC&C head of multinational programmes and network management Antonio Vianello will lead a multinational business and captive unit.

GC&C has also promoted head of parametric products and solutions Michele Pignoli to head of ART and parametrics, sitting within Vezio's insurance unit.

The insurer also announced the appointment of Nunzio Roberto Gagliardi, previously head of HR, as head of people and operations and the addition of a CEO office for GC&C led by former strategy consultant Raluca Rusu.
