April 10 (Reuters) - The United States carried out a prisoner swap with Russia in the early hours of Thursday in Abu Dhabi, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a CIA official and people familiar with the matter.
The swap involved Russia releasing Ksenia Karelina, a U.S.-Russian dual national who was sentenced last year to 12 years in a penal colony, in exchange for the U.S. freeing Arthur Petrov, a dual German-Russian citizen arrested in Cyprus in 2023, the Journal said.
