US admiral confirms two men of Chinese origin captured by Ukraine

WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) - The head of U.S. forces in the Indo-Pacific confirmed on Wednesday that Ukraine had captured two men of Chinese origin fighting for Russia and said that any Russian success offensively in Europe would embolden China in its own offensive ambitions.
Admiral Samuel Paparo was asked at a congressional hearing if China was engaging in the European theater and about reports from Ukraine about the capture of the Chinese men, and replied, referring to the People's Republic of China, "They did, and any success offensively in Europe will embolden the PRC and their own offensive ambitions."
