Germany's Merz says new government should stand in week after April 28

BERLIN, April 9 (Reuters) - Germany's chancellor designate Friedrich Merz said on Wednesday that the country's new government should stand in the week after April 28.
Merz's Christian Democrats (CDU) will hold a small party conference on that day and decide on the coalition agreement, he said, and then elections for chancellor could be held the following week.
