Hiscox's Gately joins MS Amlin in senior financial planning role

April 9 - (The Insurer) - Lloyd’s (re)insurer MS Amlin has named John Gately as head of strategy, financial planning and performance.
In a statement on Wednesday, MS Amlin said the former Hiscox executive will sit within its finance leadership team.
Gately is based in London and reports to Jessie Burrows, chief financial officer of MS Amlin.
Before joining MS Amlin, Gately was head of financial planning and analysis at Hiscox’s London market platform.
A qualified chartered accounted, Gately has two decades of experience, having previously led HSBC’s global insurance financial planning and analysis business.
Earlier in his career, Gately worked at Bernstein Research as a research analyst covering listed insurance equities.
The appointment of Gately is part of MS Amlin’s ambition to “elevate our financial planning, performance management, and portfolio strategies,” according to Burrows, in the statement on Wednesday.
