April 4 (Reuters) - California Governor Gavin Newsom will announce on Friday plans to ask nations to exempt his state from retaliatory tariffs on California-made products, Fox News reported.
Newsom's administration will pursue "strategic" relationships with countries announcing retaliatory tariffs, Fox News reported. The plan is in response to President Donald Trump's tariff plan, announced on Thursday, which upended decades of rules-based trade and threatened cost increases for consumers.
