Aid to soften US tariffs blow will fall to next German government, Berlin says

- Measures to help German companies weather the impact of new U.S. tariffs will fall to the incoming government, a spokesperson for the economy ministry said on Friday.

Decisions on aid are "reserved for a new government," the spokesperson said, adding that outgoing Economy Minister Robert Habeck was meeting with companies and industry associations on Friday to ascertain "where they see the problems."
