April 3 - (The Insurer) - Kay Swinburne has been appointed independent chair of the Association of British Insurers, the industry body said on Thursday.
She succeeds Nicky Morgan, who was the first person to hold the role following its creation in 2021.
The position, alongside the independent non-executive director role currently held by Sacha Romanovitch, was created to bring fresh perspectives, enrich diversity of experience and reinforce strong governance at the ABI.
Swinburne said: "There are some pressing issues ahead, particularly on consumer related matters and further supporting the UK’s economic growth. I look forward to steering the board as we seek to find ways to help tackle these challenges."
