China's military activities and rhetoric only exacerbate tensions, US State Department says

BEIJING, April 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. said on Tuesday that "China's aggressive military activities and rhetoric toward Taiwan only serve to exacerbate tensions," in a statement coinciding with China's military announcing drills around the island would continue on Wednesday.
"In the face of China's intimidation tactics and destabilizing behavior, the United States' enduring commitment to our allies and partners, including Taiwan, continues," the State Department's statement added.
