
WASHINGTON, April 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. Trade Representative is preparing the option for an across-the-board tariff on a subset of nations that likely would not be as high as a 20% universal tariff option, which is also under consideration by President Donald Trump's administration, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with knowledge of discussions.
The reporting comes as U.S. President Donald Trump prepares to impose new tariffs on Wednesday.
