Rare earth agreements with Ukraine should be compatible with European law, says Germany's Baerbock

BERLIN, April 1 (Reuters) - Any new rare earths agreements with Ukraine should be compatible with European law, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said during a farewell visit to Kyiv on Tuesday.

Asked about the potential mineral agreement between Ukraine and the United States, Baerbock said Europe had already reached a deal with Ukraine and that any new agreement should be compatible with EU law.

"After all, this is our European continent ... we are of course also in dialogue with all stakeholders accordingly," the outgoing foreign minister said.
