RPS confirms acquisition of Texas-based Litchfield Special Risks

March 24 - (The Insurer) - Arthur J Gallagher-owned Risk Placement Services has confirmed its acquisition of El Paso-based independent wholesaler Litchfield Special Risks.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1980, LSR is a wholesale insurance broker and MGA specialising in transportation and property/casualty solutions for retail agents across Texas and the Southwest.
Following the acquisition, LSR COO Bill Brenton and his team will remain in their current location under the leadership of Ash Thomas, vice president of RPS’s Western region.
The Insurer broke the news of the anticipated deal last week.
Gallagher has been an active acquirer in recent years, completing 25 deals in 2023 and 48 in 2024.
The Insurer broke the news late last month that Gallagher was closing in on a deal to acquire D&O specialist retail broker Woodruff Sawyer, which was later confirmed as a $1.2 billion transaction.
This publication also first reported in December that Gallagher was set to acquire AssuredPartners in a $13.5 billion deal.
