March 13 - (The Insurer) - Colorado-based Hinterland Insurance has hired Mohmoud Bondugjie, former producer and broker at USG Insurance, as assistant vice president of general commercial as the company restructures its underwriting divisions.
Bondugjie has 15 years of experience in the industry. Before his eight-year tenure at USG, he spent more than 12 years as an insurance business manager at AAA Auto Club of Southern California.
Based in San Diego, Bondugjie will lead the general commercial division, focusing on risks with a total insurable value (TIV) of $7.5 million or less.
As a part of the strategic realignment, Hinterland has launched three new divisions.
One of them is the specialty property division, which will target risks with a TIV of $7.5 million or more in key states nationwide, with a maximum of $15 million per building and $60 million overall. In certain states, they can accommodate a maximum TIV of $17 million per building.
The general commercial decision will include comprehensive property and liability coverage, specifically targeting risks with a TIV of $7.5 million or less. Liability limits start at $1 million with excess limits available up to $10 million.
The difference in conditions division will provide earthquake coverage across the West Coast on both primary and excess layers, with a maximum TIV of $150 million for primary accounts and $250 million for excess. The program can write up to $25 million per account on either a primary or excess basis.
"Through this organisational restructuring, we can more effectively manage our product lines and streamline our submission processes, leading to a more focused and tailored experience for our distribution partners," said Lee Glaser, CEO of Hinterland Insurance.
