March 12 - (The Insurer) - Willis has lined up former Lockton Norway CEO Anders Johannessen as its European head of marine, three senior marine market sources told The Insurer.
Johannessen resigned from his position at Lockton in late 2024 and will not join WTW until the conclusion of his notice period, two senior marine market sources said.
He joined Lockton in 2018 as head of special risks within its marine business, before becoming Lockton Norway CEO in April 2024.
His previous experience includes time as a senior vice president at the Norwegian Hull Club and as an executive director at NorthEdge.
One senior marine market source said Johannessen’s hire comes ahead of a rebuild of Willis’ Norway-based European marine team.
Willis had seen a number of former Norway-based marine specialists exit for Howden as part of the latter’s mid-2023 launch of a marine and energy business in the country.
Exits included former executive director of marine and energy, Frode Lund, as well as Jan Berg and Ulf Jacobsen. Former executive director David Bellamy also joined Cambiasso Risso’s CR Nordic earlier this year, according to his Linkedin.
WTW and Lockton declined to comment.
