Everest hires Aon's Mariani to lead Italian business

March 11 - (The Insurer) - Everest has appointed Aon's Giacomo Mariani to lead its insurance business in Italy.

The carrier secured regulatory approval in November 2024 to expand into the Italian market through the launch of Everest Insurance (Ireland) DAC, Succursale Italiana.

Mariani, who has moved from his position as deputy head of strategic teams at Aon, will report into Everest's head of southern Europe, José Ramón Morales.

Prior to Aon Mariani served as head of large brokers and direct clients at Zurich. This followed a previous eight-year stint at Aon, lattery as a senior corporate specialist.

The launch into Italy follows Everest’s recent expansion into other markets including Australia, Colombia and Mexico.
