- (The Insurer) - Marsh has named Andrew George president of Marsh Specialty with immediate effect.

Based in London, George reports to Martin South, president and CEO of Marsh.

In this role, George assumes overall responsibility for Marsh Specialty’s global business, which includes the aviation, construction, credit specialties, energy and power, financial and professional lines, marine and cargo, climate and sustainability, and private equity M&A practices.

George most recently served as global chairman of Marsh's energy practice, which was extended in 2015 to the energy and power practice.

He joined Marsh in 1988. Previous roles include CEO of the energy practice for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

At the same time as George's appointment, John Donnelly, president of global placement, will now report to South under a new reporting structure that sees both George and Donnelly join the Marsh executive committee.

Donnelly will also relocate from London to New York in the coming months. He had relocated to London from Sydney upon assuming the role at the end of 2023.
