March 10 - (The Insurer) - Canadian conglomerate Fairfax Financial Holdings has promoted Amy Sherk to chief financial officer, replacing Jennifer Allen, who has become chief business officer.
Sherk, who has been with Fairfax companies for over 20 years, most recently served as CFO of Fairfax India Holdings Corporation. She will be replaced by Debbie Chalkley, who has been with Fairfax group companies for more than 13 years.
Allen had been CFO for 19 years.
"We are so fortunate to have the strong depth within our group to continue, as we have in the past, to allow for internal succession and our senior personnel to move between executive roles," said Prem Watsa, chairman and CEO of Fairfax.
"We know from our long relationship with Amy that she has the knowledge, commitment and experience to seamlessly assume the CFO position at Fairfax.”
