Lockton Re confirms Meyer as London specialty division head

March 10 - (The Insurer) - Lockton Re has confirmed the appointment of Gallagher Re's Tom Meyer as head of its specialty division in London.

This publication first reported in September that Meyer would take over from Paul Upton, who Lockton Re also confirmed will become chairman of the specialty division.

Meyer most recently served Gallagher Re as managing director, specialty. He joined the business in September 2023, having previously been CEO of Chord Re.

His career includes more than a decade at Aspen, where he served in roles including CUO of Aspen Bermuda and head of specialty reinsurance for Aspen Re. Meyer also spent four years at Allianz and six years at Willis Re.

Former Aon executive Eric Paire officially took up his role as head of Lockton Re's capital advisory practice in London last week.
