WASHINGTON, March 7 (Reuters) - The United States is in exploratory talks with the Democratic Republic of Congo over a deal that would give Washington access to critical minerals in the African country, the Financial Times reported on Friday.
Congo approached the U.S. last month, proposing a deal that would offer exploration rights to the U.S. in exchange for support for the government of President Felix Tshisekedi, the newspaper reported, citing public documents.
