Canopius expands Hackett's remit to oversee APAC distribution

March 5 - (The Insurer) - Canopius has expanded Paul Hackett's responsibilities to include the role of regional head of distribution for Asia Pacific, effective March 1.

In this role, Hackett will be responsible for developing and executing the insurer's distribution strategy and strengthening broker engagement across the region, with a particular emphasis on the specialty insurance market.

This is in addition to his existing role as head of marine for APAC, Middle East and North Africa.

As a member of the APAC executive committee, Hackett will report to Soon Keen Lee, APAC and MENA CEO, and group chief underwriting officer Sam Harrison.

Hackett joined Canopius in 2018, prior to which he held senior leadership positions at RSA, Catlin and Aspen.

He chairs the International Union of Marine Insurance's nominating committee and the Lloyd’s marine development group in Singapore.
