Allianz Commercial NA names Gibbs head of portfolio solutions and DA

March 3 - (The Insurer) - Allianz Commercial has promoted Julie Gibbs to fill its newly created regional head of portfolio solutions and delegated authority in North America.

In her new role, the St. Louis, Missouri-based Gibbs will oversee Allianz Commercial’s delegated underwriting authorities and facilities.

She will work with the company’s underwriting and distribution leaders to drive the carrier’s performance, along with compliance and portfolio strategy.

As regional head of portfolio solutions and delegated authority in North America, Gibbs will report into Jenise Klein, Allianz Commercial’s newly appointed CUO for North America.

As Allianz Commercial noted, portfolio solutions is one of the pillars of the firm’s growth strategy in North America, with the carrier looking to harness the potential of reaching customers across the region through special arrangements with distribution partners such as MGAs and broker facilities.

Through these partnerships, Allianz Commercial hopes to extend its product reach into certain targeted growth sectors.

Gibbs has been at Allianz since 2007, and she has stepped up into her new role having most recently served the carrier as North American inland marine program lead.

In that role, she led strategic initiatives, onboarded new facilities and strengthened underwriting frameworks to support the unit’s growth.

Allianz Commercial said it will announce a successor for Gibbs’ former North American inland marine program lead “at a later date”.

“Julie is a proven transformative leader with deep expertise in underwriting operations and stakeholder management,” said Klein.

“In this newly created role, we are fully leveraging Julie’s experience and talent to support the foundation for Allianz Commercial’s North American growth strategy,” Klein added.

Gibbs’ promotion is the latest move Allianz Commercial has made to its North American leadership ranks.

In January, the carrier announced that Canada property head Nancy Dorvil has been promoted to regional head of property for North America, while Eric Wedin, currently regional head of commercial and financial institutions, was named regional head of financial lines in North America.

Those appointments came after Klein was appointed CUO for Allianz Commercial North America in December.
