March 3 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's administration has cut about 40% of staff from the U.S. CHIPS Program Office, Bloomberg News reported on Monday citing sources.
The job cuts inside the agency, which was granted a $52 billion subsidy under President Joe Biden, include employees that voluntarily resigned and left the agency last week, the report said, adding that about 40 probationary employees will be terminated on Monday.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
