Chief scientist Bennett departs SCS specialist Demex

March 3 - (The Insurer) - Demex's co-founder and chief scientist Stephen Bennett has left the company after five years.

Bennett marked his last day at the company in a LinkedIn post on Monday, but did not immediately disclose his next move. Demex specialises in parametric reinsurance solutions for secondary peril risks.

"It has been an honor to be part of a team tackling one of the insurance industry’s most pressing challenges: the rising financial toll of severe convective storms," Bennett said.

Bennett worked in energy trading at Enron and Citadel before co-founding startup EarthRisk Technologies in 2010. EarthRisk merged with another company in 2015 and was acquired in 2019, when Bennett joined Munich Re spinout Demex.
