Novatae recruits ex-Ethos Specialty CEO Greggains as president

March 3 - (The Insurer) - Novatae has drafted in Nick Greggains as president, with the former Ethos Specialty Insurance Services CEO joining the World Insurance Associates wholesale subsidiary following a short stint at Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers’ Irwin Siegel Agency.

In his new role, Novatae said that Greggains will become a member of the executive leadership team, working with CEO Richard Kerr in overseeing its strategic direction and financial performance.

Greggains, who began his new role on March 3, will focus on improving Novatae’s underwriting discipline, developing and implementing growth strategies, managing relationships with key clients and overseeing operational excellence, the company said.

“Nick's expertise in operating insurance companies including setting strategy, building teams, attracting and retaining talent and driving performance will prove invaluable for our business,” said Kerr.

Greggains brings more than 35 years of industry experience to Novatae.

In a statement announcing his hire, Novatae said Greggains had spent the past four years as president and CEO of Ethos Specialty.

However, as this publication previously reported, Greggains was most recently at Irwin Siegel Agency, which he joined as president in September last year.

As reported at the time, Greggains moved to Irwin Siegel Agency, an MGU focused on insurance products and risk management solutions for human and social service organisations, with the aim of launching an E&S platform.

Aside from Irwin Siegel Agency and Ethos Specialty, Greggains has held senior roles at companies including Pioneer Underwriters, XL Insurance and Catlin Group.

Novatae was formed in 2022 when World Insurance Associates consolidated and rebranded its seven separate wholesale operations under a single banner.

The company operates as a full-service wholesale insurance brokerage, MGA and program manager offering products and services across business lines including property, casualty, workers' compensation, cyber, professional, management, construction, environmental, garage, inland marine/ocean marine, contingency and others.
