Mexican president sees economic growth in 2025, despite tariff threat

ReutersFeb 20, 2025 3:09 PM

- Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that her government believes 2025 will be a good year for economic growth, despite the uncertainty created by the threat of U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs.

Sheinbaum's comments come a day after the Bank of Mexico halved its growth forecast for Latin America's second-largest economy and even said it saw a possibility that it would slide into a recession.
