Exclusive: RB Jones launches motor truck cargo product led by former Axa XL Americas marine CUO Perrotti

Feb 18 - (The Insurer) - Michigan-based MGU RB Jones has launched a new motor truck cargo product, led by former longtime Axa XL CUO for marine in the Americas, Mike Perrotti.

The new offering provides coverage for a motor carrier’s liability in cases of loss or damage to third-party property in their care.

It is available for both traditional cargo haulers and specialised truckers, including automobile haulers, driveaway contractors, flatbed or steel haulers and wrecking/towing operations.

Backed by Atain Insurance Companies, the product can provide coverage limits up to $1 million.

Perrotti, who joined RB Jones in December, leads inland marine growth, overseeing product development and underwriting authority.

He previously spent over 13 years at Axa XL, most recently as CUO for marine North America.

“Importantly, the solution is supported by RB Jones’ sophisticated underwriting and industry leading expertise – the result is a product that provides RB Jones with another important competitive advantage,” said Perrotti.

In October 2024, Program Manager reported that the historically marine-focused MGU began expanding into new lines and is working to grow its existing programs while entering additional classes, including transportation.

In April of last year, the MGU also launched a new cannabis-in-transit program backed by capacity from Atain.
