TEL AVIV, Feb 18 (Reuters) - El Al Israel Airlines ELAL.TA said on Tuesday it was expanding its capacity to the United States this summer by adding two flights a week to Boston.
Starting in May and using Boeing Dreamliner 787 aircraft, Israel's flag carrier will operate five weekly flights to Boston, up from three currently. That will bring the number of flights to the United States to a record 52 a week, from 40 now.
"Since October 7, 2023, El Al has been making every effort to strengthen the flight schedule to the USA," the airline said.
During the summer, El Al will operate up to six daily flights to New York, four weekly flights to Miami, two weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale and eight to Los Angeles in addition to Boston.
El Al is the lone carrier currently flying nonstop to the United States from Tel Aviv. Delta and United, which halted flights frequently during Israel's war against Palestinian militant group Hamas are expected to resume service in the coming weeks given the Israel-Hamas ceasefire.
