BERLIN, Feb 16 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump's administration has launched an attack on shared Western values, which "cannot be taken seriously enough", German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck said on Sunday.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Friday, the first day of the Munich Security Conference, criticised German mainstream parties' commitment not to collaborate with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) in remarks that were strongly rebuffed by Berlin.
"It is ...the fact that what once came to Europe from America is being abandoned: The rule of law, liberal democracies and a rule-based order," Habeck, member of the Greens party, said during a live pre-election debate broadcast by German TV channel RTL.
