IQUW hires Tongue as CPRI lead underwriter

Feb 11 - (The Insurer) - IQUW has appointed Andrew Tongue as lead underwriter in its credit and political risk unit.

The specialty (re)insurer said its global offering will focus on credit risks but also offer traditional political risk coverages.

Tongue joined IQUW from a four-year stint at Canopius, latterly as deputy head of credit and political risk.

Prior to Canopius, he held senior underwriting roles at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, Axa and CNA Hardy,

The move continues the recent strengthening of IQUW’s specialty classes, which included the hire of Chris Touhey as senior underwriter, energy.
