- (The Insurer) - PartnerRe has announced its second senior promotion in recent days with the appointment of Zino Theokli as head of group retrocession.

London-based Theokli most recently served PartnerRe as senior underwriter for specialty property, engineering and downstream energy treaty, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He joined the reinsurer in 2021 from Scor, where he had served as a senior treaty underwriter.

Prior to joining Scor in 2017, Theokli spent four years at Amlin, and before that four years at Allianz.

“Zino’s very strong experience across various business areas, paired with his technical expertise, makes him ideally suited to lead our retrocession efforts,” said Marek Garwacki, PartnerRe’s non-life chief underwriting officer.

“I’m confident he’ll bring great value and perspective to the team,” Garwacki added.

Theokli’s promotion to head of group retrocession comes just a couple of days after PartnerRe announced Garwacki’s appointment as non-life CUO.

As this publication previously reported, effective 1 February, Garwacki has also joined the Zurich-based reinsurer's executive leadership team.

The promotions of Garwacki and Theokli follow a recent reshuffle of PartnerRe’s senior leadership in the wake of former CEO Jacques Bonneau’s decision to retire in April 2024 and join Brit Re’s board.

Philippe Meyenhofer succeeded Bonneau as CEO, while Jon Colello added the president role to his position as P&C Americas CEO.
