Willis appoints Easton global head of ART and Western Europe risk and analytics head

- (The Insurer) - Willis, a WTW business, has promoted Derrick Easton to the new role of global head of alternative risk transfer (ART) and also appointed him head of Western Europe for risk and analytics.

Easton was previously managing director for ART in the Americas at Willis, the reintroduced corporate risk broking brand of WTW. He has led the broker's ART team in the US since 2015 after previous experience in ART and captives at Marsh and Aon.

Willis' ART team specialises in areas such as parametrics, structured insurance, captives de-risking and portfolio solutions, among others. It is part of the broker's risk and analytics unit, which provides analytics and consulting services to help organisations understand their risks better.

Easton will report to John Merkovsky, global head of risk and analytics, and Hugo Wegbrans, head of risk and broking Europe.

Merkovsky said: “I am looking forward to partnering with Derrick to grow our alternative risk transfer business globally and drive a renewed risk and analytics strategy in Europe. His innovative way of working has made a significant impact on growth within the business and as a global leader, he will strengthen our risk and analytics capabilities and drive even greater success.
