Serbian oil company NIS asks U.S. Treasury for a waiver of sanctions for 90 days

BELGRADE, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Serbian oil company NIS, which is majority-owned by Russia's Gazprom GAZP.MM, has submitted a formal request to the U.S. Treasury Department for a waiver of sanctions for 90 days, Serbia's energy ministry said on Tuesday.
Russia said last month that was in contact with Serbia about NIS, which Belgrade fears will face U.S. sanctions because Russia's Gazprom is its majority owner.
