PartnerRe names Garwacki non-life CUO

Feb 3 - (The Insurer) - PartnerRe has appointed Marek Garwacki as non-life chief underwriting officer.
Effective 1 February, Garwacki has also joined the Zurich-based reinsurer's executive leadership team.
Garwacki has spent the last 12 years at PartnerRe, latterly as its head of group retrocession. Prior to that he served as chief of staff and head of strategy and portfolio construction, specialty lines.
He joined PartnerRe from his role as deputy head of Axa’s business support and development unit. This followed six years within the French Treasury as an insurance regulator.
The appointment follows a recent rejig of PartnerRe’s senior leadership, which started with former CEO Jacques Bonneau’s decision to retire in April 2024 and join the Brit Re board.
Philippe Meyenhofer succeeded Bonneau as CEO, while Jon Colello added the president role to his position as P&C Americas CEO.
