Jan 30 - (The Insurer) - Atrium Underwriters' job-sharing duo Victoria Gobey and Emma Smith have exited the business to join Inigo Insurance's international property team, The Insurer can reveal.
The duo assumed the first job-sharing role in the Lloyd's market in 2017 after a six-month trial, with both serving as senior underwriters.
The position was introduced as an option for career returners after having children as part of a wider effort by the London market to support flexible working needs.
Smith joined Atrium in 2013 as a senior non-marine underwriter based in Singapore, specialising in facultative excess of loss, commercial property, power and onshore energy. She relocated to London in 2016.
The duo have joined rival Lloyd's insurer Inigo as line underwriters for international property.
Last year, Inigo surpassed the $1bn GWP threshold in its third year of operation. The carrier booked a 35.2 percent increase in GWP year on year, with an 8.9 percentage point improvement in the combined ratio to 85.5 percent.
Inigo underwrites commercial property, onshore energy, D&O, financial institutions, political violence and terrorism, and several casualty lines through Syndicate 1301.
Atrium and Inigo declined to comment.
