Jan 28 - (The Insurer) - Beazley has appointed Marsh’s Sebastian Lotz as aviation underwriter for the DACH region.
In his new role, Lotz will lead the development of Beazley’s aviation offering in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Lotz has joined the insurer following a four-year stint at Marsh, during which he served as head of aviation for Germany and as a senior placement broker.
Prior to Marsh, Lotz spent eight years at AIG, latterly as DACH aerospace head. Lotz started his career as an aviation claims adjuster at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.
The hire adds to this week’s talent movement in the aviation insurance market.
Other moves included Scor P&C’s hire of AIG’s Arta Nasradini as head of aviation, and law firm DAC Beachcroft's appointment of Maria Cetta as a partner within its aviation practice.
The Insurer also revealed that Miles Taffs is set to exit United Insurance Brokers (UIB) for Liberty Specialty Markets at the end of Q1. Taffs will be succeeded as managing director of UIB’s aviation division by Marek Ambrozewski.
