South Korea foreign minister, Rubio discuss North Korea, alliance in phone call, Seoul says

SEOUL, Jan 23 (Reuters) - South Korea's foreign minister Cho Tae-yul and new U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed on Thursday to continue close cooperation on North Korea and develop a trilateral partnership including Japan, Seoul's foreign ministry said.
In their first phone call, Rubio invited Cho to Washington and both agreed to meet at their earliest convenient time, the ministry said in a statement.
