WASHINGTON, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Republican U.S. President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Tuesday that asks government agency chiefs to combat Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies in federal agencies, contracting and the private sector, the White House said.
The order also encouraged the private sector to "end illegal DEI discrimination and preferences," the White House added.
