BERLIN, Dec 30 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Monday he was mourning the death of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, saying that the United States had "lost a committed fighter for democracy".
"The world has lost a great mediator for peace in the Middle East and for human rights," Scholz also said in an X post.
