Japan top currency diplomat says government closely watching market movement

TOKYO, Feb 12 (Reuters) - Japan's top currency diplomat Atsushi Mimura said on Thursday the government is closely watching markets after the yen strengthened against the U.S. dollar.
"We are closely watching markets with a high sense of urgency," said Mimura, who is vice finance minister for currency affairs, adding that the government is closely in contact with U.S. authorities.
