TOKYO, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Tuesday that recent foreign exchange market movements do not reflect economic fundamentals and reiterated Tokyo's readiness for action.
"I don't believe that the recent market movement reflects fundamentals," Katayama said at a regular press conference. "I have said we will take action against excessive moves, including speculative ones, and I have made it clear that we have a free hand to do so," she added.
