Brazil's Lula says US Rubio has called Brazilian counterpart

SAO PAULO, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Thursday that United States States Secretary Marco Rubio called the Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on Wednesday following a call between Lula and President Donald Trump about tariffs.
In an interview with local radio station Piata FM, Lula said he was surprised about the outcome of the talk with Trump, in which we requested the removal of tariffs on Brazilian exports to the United States.
