Britain's economy is not broken, says finance minister Reeves
LONDON, Sept 3 (Reuters) - British finance minister Rachel Reeves said the country's economy was not broken, but acknowledged there were still challenges to solve, highlighting a need to keep inflation and borrowing costs down.
"Britain's economy isn't broken," she said.
"But I'm not satisfied. There's more to do. Cost of living pressures are still real. And we must bring inflation and borrowing costs down by keeping a tight grip on day to day spending through our non-negotiable fiscal rules."
Reeves made the remarks in a video published on X shortly after she announced the government would hold its next budget on November 26.
