The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Wednesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.4231 to the greenback, or 70.27 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.4176 to 1.4245.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR rose 0.1 basis points to 3.193%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.5366%.
U.S. March crude CLc1 futures rose 40 cents to settle at $72.25 a barrel on Wednesday.
