TEGUCIGALPA, March 2 (Reuters) - Honduran coffee exports rose 82.5% year-on-year in February from a year earlier, according to data released on Monday by the Honduran Coffee Institute(IHCAFE).
Shipments totaled 1,443,736 46-kg bags during the second month of the 2025-2026 harvest, up from the 790,596 bags in the same month of the previous cycle.
The value of exports reached $492.94 million, up from $271.54 million reported in the same month of the previous season.
The average price per bag decreased slightly to $341.44, compared with $343.47 a year earlier.
The United States remains the top destination, accounting for 39% of cumulative shipments, followed by Germany with 16.2% and Belgium with 13%.
Honduras is the largest coffee producer in Central America and the sixth largest in the world.
