Volkswagen's China chief says Germany can be confident in talks with Beijing

BERLIN, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Germany has every reason to be confident in its talks with China on trade and economic ties, the head of Volkswagen's China business said on Wednesday.

"Anyone who is serious about driving transformation in key sectors – from mobility to renewable energy - cannot look past China," Ralf Brandstaetter said in a LinkedIn post. "At the same time, Europe and Germany in particular, has every reason to articulate and pursue its interests with confidence."

Volkswagen Group CEO Oliver Blume is among the executives who travelled with Chancellor Friedrich Merz to China this week for a trip aimed at resetting ties amid a widening trade imbalance.
